Motion Detected Recording
VDG Sense uses its available storage as efficiently as possible, by only recording data when the camera detects movement.
Device Support
VDG Sense is built on an open platform and can therefore be configured to work with any security device.
Intelligence
VDG Sense can be expanded with intelligent video content analysis (VCA), adding huge value to collected video data.
Unlimited possibilities
VDG Sense is created to fit in any kind of security environment. No matter how large or complex, we have the solution.
Reliable video management with unlimited possibilities
With VDG Sense you have control of all live images and stored video data, in a user-friendly interface. It is scalable from just a few, to a few hundred cameras and other connected devices. Integration in any (video) security environment and with any security device is made easy through an open platform, a well documented API and ONVIF support.
Key features of VDG Sense include
- Fully customizable layouts
- Event driven server and client macros
- Motion detected recording
- Failover protection
- Intelligence such as license plate and facial recognition and object detection
- Dual streaming and Multicasting to reduce network loads.
VDG Sense is available as software license, as well as full CCTV solution with hardware.
Custom Layouts
Choosing the right screen layout depends on many different factors. So why offer only standardized layouts? That’s what our developers thought when we created custom layouts. Discover the advantages of how you can fully customize your dashboard to your own desire.

Motion Detected Recording
Why record endless data, wasting storage space, when nothing occurs? That’s what triggered our engineers to develop motion detected recording and its unique storage engine. VDG Sense uses its available storage as efficiently as possible, by only recording data when the camera detects movement. This makes video content analysis much easier and the unique storage engine gives you almost limitless storage.
Dual Streaming & Multicasting
Intelligence
VDG Sense can be expanded with video channel add-ons to add intelligence to your video content analysis. Depending on your needs, this can add huge value to the video data collected and can help to signal or prevent unwanted situations quicker and more efficiently.

Device Support
DG Sense is built on an open platform and can therefore be configured to work with any security device. At the moment it supports over 3000 different cameras, all with different codecs and resolutions. We have pre-selected certain devices where the input- and output (I/O) contacts, audio and alarm functionality can be used. If needed, VDG sense can be tailored to your specific security systems to integrate and communicate with any security device within that security environment.
Failover
System failure is not an option when your safety depends on it. With our failover add-on, we make sure that redundancy is guaranteed if a server failure is detected. With this add-on, VDG Sense monitors more than 100 different points, including network connectivity and hardware related functions. In any failover situation, clients will show “Server Connection Lost” in video panels until the failover server has taken over the tasks of the original server. This usually takes less than 30 seconds.
Video Tagging
Save video data by simply tagging it. In a standard VDG Sense set-up, new video data is written over old video data when the storage is full. In case of an event, the operator can manually tag video data within a specific time frame, making sure that video data is never deleted or overwritten. This can be done up to one hour before the event occurs, showing any possible causes that could have lead to the event captured on screen. Video Tagging is used to make sure that video data can be retrieved in a later stadium for research or investigation purposes.
Integrations
For system integrators, VDG has developed a well documented HTTP/XML API that enables monitoring and remote control of a VDG Sense system. Supported functions include live video, playback, pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ), event streaming, screen layout manipulation, macro execution and retrieval of system information.
